FALL OPEN STUDIOS 2026 - PARTNERSHIP

As you know we have reached an agreement that yields a partnership between ArtSpan, STAR, and the Point.

THE HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDE:

A simplified registration process for participating artists. - STAR will facilitate registration and the registration link for Shipyard Artists will come from STAR.

A single fee to participate (that is lower 29% lower than when the fees were separate). - The fee is $440 for Tenant Artists; $545 for Guest Artists.

A clearer, more unified message to the public and attendees. - As part of San Francisco's broader arts ecosystem, the Hunters Point Shipyard Artist community is part of the city-wide SF Open Studios, with a dedicated weekend in light of our community's size and unique site.

FALL OPEN STUDIOS 2026 - THE 3 MOST IMPORTANT HEADLINES

The fee for Shipyard Artists to participate in Fall Open Studios is the same regardless of when you register—Tenant artist: $440; Guest artist: $545

Now that registration is live for Shipyard Artists and Islais Creek Artists you need to be 3 things:

Complete this registration form (with your single payment)—FOS26 STAR + ArtSpan Sign-up.

2.

Claim your complimentary ArtSpan membership.

Claim your SF open Studios Registration, from your active ArtSpan account.

FALL OPEN STUDIOS 2026 - ADVANTAGES FOR SHIPYARD ARTISTS

The Hunters Point Shipyard Artist community (Hunters Point shipyard AND Islais Creek) is the largest site that participates in the city-wide SF Open Studio. That allowed us to negotiate, on your behalf, an agreement that has some distinct advantages for the Shipyard Artist community.

THE BENEFITS INCLUDE:

Shipyard Open Studios remains Shipyard Open Studios. - with its own identity and on-site experience.

Shipyard Artists will receive the "Premier" benefit level from ArtSpan. - which includes SF Open Studios’ citywide marketing, inclusion in their PRINTED guide/catalog, and eligibility to be in the preview exhibit at SOMArts.

Complimentary 1-year Artist Membership to ArtSpan, with your registration. - Already renewed your ArtSpan membership? No problem. You’ll get an extension for another year.

FALL OPEN STUDIOS 2026 - FEES FOR SHIPYARD ARTISTS

Financial Support - Give and Receive

After a lot of compromises between organizations the new combined fee is significantly less than what the combined fees had been in the past. But we realize that paying the combined fee will be difficult for some artists.

STAR would like to create "scholarships" of $150 that would be available to artists that need extra financial support in order to participate. This would bring the registration fee down to $290. These scholarships are funded by Support-Another-Artist tickets that come in increments of $50, $100, or $150. Note: $150 will fully support one artist's “scholarship.”

We're hoping that artists that were able to afford the previous fee structure might consider contributing to the Support-Another Artist "scholarships." Pending sufficient donations, STAR will offer a $150 discount to artists who need it.

TO GIVE - Select the Help-Another-Artist ($50), Support-Another-Artist ($100), or Fully-Subsidize-Another-Artist ($150) checkboxes on the registration form.

The Point’s site fee to participants is included in the above fees.

FALL OPEN STUDIOS 2026 - ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITIES

STAR's Gate Brochure is once again available for advertising. It will be similar to our previous catalog, but without the individual artist squares. Pricing early bird is $240 half page and $470 full page.

Ads in the ArtSpan catalog are sold separately and can be purchased directly from ArtSpan at https://www.artspan.org/advertise/.

FALL OPEN STUDIOS 2026 - SHIPYARD AUCTION

The Shipyard Auction will go on as usual!

The auction at the Shipyard is a tradition with a long history. People love it and look forward to it! And the proceeds support the Shipyard Artists community.

DONATE TO AUCTION - The online entry form will be available later. - Schedule will be released later with deadlines and drop-off dates.
